A mostly true story made up by Steve S about a couple of different dogs named Scout. Both rode shotgun when it counted, and left too soon. But they left in different ways, leaving us to wonder whether dogs know what they leave behind or do they just answer a call that we can’t hear.
lyrics
I saw you in a cage, you sat all alone.
You saw that I’d built a cage of my own
We set out with hope but no plan
You were Robin, to my fragile Batman
We took no prisoners,
Outward or homeward bound
Was it me who rescued you,
Or was it the other way around
I remember the nights when we sat in my room
I’d light up a jay while you howled at the moon
Watchin’ a comet movin’ close to the sun
whispering, you’ll never have to run
We took no prisoners,
Outward or homeward bound
Was it me who rescued you,
Or was it the other way around
When the night came, we walked in the park
A street light exploded, you were scared by the spark
You flashed across that field in your highest gear
Over the ridge I watched you disappear
[instrumental break/bridge]
I called your name, oh why did you break free
Could it be that easy to forget about me
Was it really just fear that made you run
Or was it the call of the wild, saying come on, come on

Jackie Wilson, the sax player from Buck-O-Nine, Wild-&-Innocent era Bruce Springsteen, and Grace Slick start a golf round as a foursome. At the turn, Phil Spector asks to play through and things get outta hand.
Slugger breakup record to top all breakup records. "You only say you love me when your lonely." And "I love the way she left me It reminds me I'm not always supposed to be happy." Wow! The Innocent Bystanders
